This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Administer LAN infrastructures, which include access points (WAPs), wireless LAN controllers, and integration with Software Defined Access (SDA) frameworks.
• Supervise and execute switch provisioning (configuration) and deployment across various locations, including managing cutover logistics and change management processes.
• Set up network monitoring for newly installed and replaced devices.
• Assist in the operation of Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) locations.
• Support and maintain network devices and configurations (routers and routing).
• Employ and implement network orchestration tools and techniques to enable automated and consistent configurations, management, testing, deployment, and operation of both physical and virtual network devices.
• Manage the status, errors, and traffic statistics of all routing interfaces, including bandwidth utilization and errors for all inbound and outbound LAN/WAN circuits.
• Provide consulting services to professional staff and clients in analyzing and designing data processing systems, management systems, scientific systems, and other related domains.
• Make technical decisions regarding the types of data to collect and the methods utilized for data gathering and analysis.
• Offer technical direction, guidance, and assistance for assigned projects, recommending efficient approaches and solutions to problems.
• Develop analytical and computational techniques and methodologies for problem-solving.
• Provision and configure switches and routers.
• Assist with vulnerability patching and IOS upgrades.
• Prepare and deliver written and oral reports.
• Analyze, diagnose, and propose solutions for complex issues.
• Escalate matters to vendors and third-party entities as necessary and directed by the Government.
• Generate and update network documentation in collaboration with onsite installation resources.
• Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and client personnel at all levels.
• Create knowledge base articles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Public Trust Clearance or the capability to obtain one.
• ITILv4 Foundation Certification to be achieved within 120 days of the start date.
• Prior experience with vulnerability patching and IOS upgrades.
• Previous involvement in supporting and operating Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) locations.
• Demonstrates and applies extensive knowledge across key tasks and significant assignments.
• Acts as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• Design and create solutions for complex application problems, system administration challenges, or network issues.
• Execute systems management and integration functions.
• Proven capability to work independently in both full and/or partial remote environments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all staff levels and clients.
• Adhere to standard working hours as per the DIGIT contract and be available for meetings and collaborative efforts during those hours.
• Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
• Assignments may require creativity and innovation in determining methods to accomplish tasks.
