This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the team of Platform Engineers by offering guidance, eliminating obstacles, and empowering them to take ownership of core platform infrastructure and tooling.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure the platform enables secure, reliable, and high-speed delivery in both cloud-native and air-gapped environments.
• Establish standards and frameworks for Infrastructure as Code, service onboarding, environment management, GitOps workflows, and overall platform releases.
• Guarantee observability, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the platform; consistently monitor and enhance service health, developer feedback, and performance metrics.
• Manage the operational facets of the platform team: handling incidents, maintaining responsiveness, conducting After-Action Reviews (AARs) / post-mortems, creating runbooks, and fostering continuous operational improvement.
• Serve as a vital stakeholder in architecture, influencing decisions on how the platform interacts with product, engineering, and operations, ensuring the platform fulfills mission requirements.
• 5-8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, with at least 2 years of experience managing engineers (preferably infrastructure engineers).
• Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes, AWS (or multi-cloud), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Ansible / similar), and a proven history of building platforms and/or platform services.
• Deep understanding of hybrid and air-gapped environments and the associated challenges (compliance, connectivity, segmentation, secure operations).
• Proven capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, and Cybersecurity) and to convert high-level requirements into actionable strategies.
• Proficient in establishing and governing operational metrics, SLOs, incident response procedures, and platform delivery assessments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical direction and guidance to engineers and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
