Platform Engineer – Software Engineer II/III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance CI pipelines utilized across various repositories and teams.

• Contribute to the internal developer platform, encompassing self-service tools, workflows, and automation.

• Take responsibility for testing, documentation, and deployment of platform upgrades and new tool integrations.

• Develop reliable and maintainable code in Python, Go, or TypeScript.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders to collect feedback and enhance the developer experience.

• Contribute to a product operating at a large scale.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming sessions.

• Progress towards ownership of a platform surface with guidance from senior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience in writing and delivering production software, with proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript.

• Practical experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, or comparable; having built or significantly modified pipelines.

• Familiarity with Docker; capable of writing and debugging a Dockerfile and articulating image and layer trade-offs.

• Experience managing a project from start to finish, such as a service, pipeline, internal tool, or library.

• Comfortable working in a Unix-like environment and proficient with Git.

• A systematic approach to troubleshooting systems not originally developed by you.

• A collaborative mindset and a strong desire to learn.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions.

• An interest in infrastructure and developer tooling.

• Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or developer productivity team (preferred).

• Experience with Kubernetes in a production setting (preferred).

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, such as Terraform (preferred).

• Familiarity with agentic coding tools in daily tasks (preferred).

• Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry (preferred).
