Platform Engineer – Middleware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and create enterprise-level integration solutions utilizing: IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM API Connect, Apache Kafka, and IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).

• Implement architectures that are API-led and event-driven.

• Develop High-Level and Low-Level designs for integration solutions.

• ACE Development: Create message flows, sub-flows, and utilize ESQL and Java Compute nodes.

• Implement data transformation, routing, enrichment, and integration with backend systems (REST/SOAP/MQ/Kafka).

• Optimize solutions for performance and scalability.

• Design and implement proxies, service proxies, and API routing layers.

• Utilize IBM API Connect to develop APIs and proxy layers, and implement routing, versioning, and mediation logic.

• Apply request/response transformation and traffic policies (including throttling and rate limiting).

• Develop integrations based on Kafka, including producers and consumers, as well as event streaming pipelines.

• Implement real-time data integration patterns.

• Integrate Kafka with ACE and API layers.

• Create transformation maps using IBM ITX.

• Manage complex data formats and high-volume transformations.

• Integrate ITX with ACE and APIs.

• Implement reusable integration components, error handling and logging frameworks, and security patterns (OAuth, JWT, TLS).

• Ensure compliance with coding standards, performance benchmarks, and integration governance practices.

• Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, application teams, infrastructure and DevOps teams, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and participate in solution design, estimations, and client discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 7+ years of experience as a database developer in the banking or BFSI sector.

• Strong hands-on development experience with: IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise), IBM API Connect, Apache Kafka, and IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).

• Expertise in API Proxy, Service Proxy, and API Routing patterns.

• Experience in REST/SOAP API development, microservices, and API-led architecture.

• Strong understanding of JSON, XML, and XSD.

• Proficient coding skills in ESQL and Java for integration logic.

• Experience in creating scalable and reusable integration components.

• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).

• Understanding of event-driven systems and distributed architectures.

• Familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git) and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / IBM Cloud).
