Platform Engineer Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, guide, and mentor our Platform Engineers.

• Architect, construct, manage, and monitor the infrastructure for RoadRunner technology.

• Work alongside product and engineering managers to establish technical roadmaps and assist in guiding our technological vision.

• Stay informed about market trends, including technical advancements and process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Platform engineering, Dev(Sec)Ops, or a related engineering discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role or as a team leader.

• Strong technical foundation in platform engineering, with practical experience in relevant technologies (AWS services and ecosystem, Terraform, Docker, DataDog).

• Proven experience in building and managing web application infrastructure at scale.

• Preferred background in data engineering and application architecture.

• Preferred experience in ML Ops, or a willingness to learn.

• Experience in creating technical scopes, technical requirements documents, and technical roadmaps.

• Ability to convey technical concepts and decisions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

• Preferred experience in recruiting and developing an engineering team.

• Experience in overseeing and implementing technical processes such as pull request reviews, code coverage, continuous integration and deployment, and cloud platform management.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.

• A strong passion for business outcomes and quality, along with a sense of accountability, metrics, and ownership.
