This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design, develop, and manage our Kubernetes platform across various clusters.
• Create and sustain our GitOps workflows utilizing Argo CD (app-of-apps model, Helm-based deployments).
• Oversee and enhance core platform services such as Harbor, OpenBao, and Zitadel.
• Establish and enhance observability throughout the platform (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Alloy) and assist in actionable alerting.
• Handle secrets, backups, and data services (e.g., CNPG/PostgreSQL, VolSync, S3 storage).
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to transition services from Ansible/VM-based deployments to Kubernetes while defining reusable deployment standards.
• Enhance the developer experience through comprehensive documentation, templates, golden paths, and self-service platform functionalities.
• Diagnose platform issues across infrastructure, networking, and application layers (2nd-level support).
• Engage in on-call duties to maintain stable platform operations.
• Contribute to platform architecture decisions, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Several years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps.
• Strong hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in a production environment (multi-cluster experience is preferred).
• Familiarity with GitOps and declarative infrastructure (e.g., Argo CD, Helm).
• Good understanding of networking, TLS/certificates, DNS, firewalls, and container technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and observability for distributed systems (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus/Mimir, Loki).
• Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Nix, Bash, OpenTofu/Terraform).
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and production deployment practices (progressive rollouts, rollbacks, health checks).
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, effective communication, and a proactive ownership approach.
• Excellent English proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Ideally, a completed IT apprenticeship or degree — or equivalent qualifications through professional experience.
