This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee and enhance our API Gateway integration platforms on an enterprise level.
• Manage the tools and support systems for intelligent automated integration, prioritizing flexibility and reliability.
• Evaluate and improve API definition standards, fostering innovation across our API ecosystem at scale.
• Mentor junior engineers while establishing high standards for operational excellence.
• Administer and progress the API integration platforms and associated infrastructure components, including software upgrades, performance monitoring, and collaboration with application development teams.
• Assist in leading platform enhancement initiatives that facilitate secure and flexible integration between internal and external services.
• Offer expertise in application service design and data and transaction workflows to ensure scalability, reliability, and extensibility.
• Adhere to infrastructure-as-code best practices (Terraform, Helm, Ansible) for consistent deployments and environment stability.
• Promote operational excellence through on-call support, comprehensive post-mortem analysis, and implementation of solutions that enhance resilience.
• Conduct unit testing and complex debugging while identifying opportunities for automated testing when applicable.
• Analyze technical feasibility and solution design, including work effort estimation, planning, and backlog management.
• Ensure that upgrades, patches, and platform updates are proactively planned and executed to avoid business disruptions.
• Assist in establishing reliability targets and defining operational metrics (availability, latency, error budgets) in accordance with SRE methodologies.
• Produce detailed technical documentation for systems, which includes architectural diagrams and operational procedures for standardized maintenance and support actions.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4-6 years of relevant technical and business experience in IT systems delivery, operations, and support, preferably within healthcare or high-transaction environments.
• 3+ years of experience in technical engineering roles focused on the implementation and management of IT systems.
• Practical experience with API Gateway management at scale.
• Knowledge of HTTP integration and API authentication frameworks.
• Familiarity with SSL certificates (validation, encryption, authentication, signature).
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) and AWS services (VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, Istio).
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools, preferably Splunk or New Relic.
• Background in bridging infrastructure and development teams to ensure alignment of roadmaps and objectives.
• Capacity to lead and support technical teams effectively.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
