This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Operate and troubleshoot Kahootz's AWS-based SaaS production platform.
• Monitor service health, availability, capacity, and performance utilizing AWS CloudWatch, Monit, and other observability tools.
• Investigate and resolve incidents across AWS services, including EC2, RDS, IAM, and networking.
• Deploy and validate updates, patches, and production changes through controlled, auditable processes.
• Create and maintain scripts, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Diagnose recurring issues in collaboration with support, R&D, and DevOps colleagues, implementing lasting solutions.
• Evolve platform components to enhance reliability, maintainability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment patterns for consistent environments.
• Lead containerization and modernization initiatives, including the use of Kubernetes when appropriate.
• Adapt and deploy platform capabilities for specialized projects and emerging markets.
• Evaluate architecture changes and external integrations, providing guidance on secure and supportable designs.
• Respond to security vulnerabilities and incidents, coordinating necessary remediation efforts.
• Maintain technical controls and documentation supporting compliance certifications and customer assurance.
• Contribute to certifications, audits, and security reviews.
• Enhance and test business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
• Must be UK-based and eligible for UK security clearance.
• A degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and structured problem-solving skills.
• Customer-centric mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions clearly.
• Capability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
• Solid understanding of software delivery lifecycles, SaaS operations, and DevOps practices.
• Awareness of secure engineering, operational risk, and compliance principles.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jira.
• Curiosity, sound judgement, and a willingness to learn, including responsible use of automation and AI-assisted tools.
• Hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting production workloads in AWS.
• Good knowledge of Linux systems, networking principles and protocols, and cloud infrastructure.
• Practical experience with Route53, EC2, RDS, S3, EFS, ECS, ACM, and WAF.
• Proficiency in scripting and coding with Bash, Ansible, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with container workflows and Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident, problem, or change management practices.
• Exposure to security, compliance, and vulnerability management tools such as CrowdStrike, Rapid7, and SecurityScorecard.
• Experience in a SaaS or software delivery environment is advantageous.
• Experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team is a plus.
