Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establishing new environments and maintaining current ones.

• Collaborating with developers to troubleshoot issues.

• Carrying out modernization initiatives.

• Diagnosing low-level technical problems.

• Engaging with documentation processes.

• Enhancing existing processes and developing new ones.

• Automating repetitive tasks through scripting.

• Participating in on-call duties on a rotational basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in Linux operating systems.

• Strong proficiency in scripting with Bash.

• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.

• Practical experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible.

• Comprehensive understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and BGP.

• Experience with containerization and bare metal servers, including tools such as Tomcat and Nginx.

• Knowledge of high availability systems, including HAProxy and IPVS.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to create and work with detailed documentation.

• Fluent communication skills in English and Polish (minimum B2 level), both written and verbal.

• Nice to have: RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) certifications, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certifications, LPIC-2 (Linux Professional Institute Certification) certifications, proficiency in Perl or Python scripting languages, experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logs and traces, experience with GitLab CI for continuous integration and deployment, knowledge of alerting and monitoring tools like Alertmanager and Check_MK, and experience with databases like MariaDB and Redis.
