This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Create, document, and lead the architectural vision and strategy for backend services, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
β’ Establish and oversee technical standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud infrastructure and application development. Act as a technical authority for the AWS serverless ecosystem, including Lambda functions, API Gateways, managed databases (e.g., DynamoDB/RDS), and CloudWatch.
β’ Develop, maintain, and enhance the platform's infrastructure utilizing Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with an emphasis on reusable modules and automation.
β’ Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using tools such as GitHub Actions to automate the software development lifecycle for both infrastructure and application code.
β’ Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of software engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
β’ Offer technical guidance and consultation on intricate design challenges, performance optimization, and operational efficiency.
β’ Propel the adoption of new technologies and platform capabilities, ensuring a seamless transition for development teams.
β’ Set and enforce best practices for platform monitoring, alerting, and logging.
β’ Ensure the platform complies with security, compliance, and cost-management policies.
β’ A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer Lead/Manager or in a similar role managing software engineers/development teams.
β’ At least 5 years of experience providing technical leadership in software engineering.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience handling regulated data, information security, and privacy requirements.
β’ At least 5 years of experience leading international teams.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience with AWS, including management/containers, serverless architecture, Lambda functions, managed databases, API Gateways, and CloudWatch.
β’ At least 5 years of experience using Terraform to define and manage cloud infrastructure.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience with GitHub Actions or similar automated build and deployment tools linked to the software development lifecycle that manage both infrastructure and software.
β’ At least 2 years of experience with data warehouse tools/systems such as Databricks or Snowflake.
