This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

• Comprehend and comply with DOT program requirements along with the operating manual for the plant and pipeline.
• Avoid accidents by meticulously planning jobs and strictly following company safety protocols.
• Promote ongoing safety enhancements at the site and across the organization by creating a collaborative environment that encourages safety improvement ideas.
• Report all near-miss incidents and assist in root cause investigations that result in actionable measures.
• Manage the operation and maintenance of the facility in complete adherence to all relevant permits and program stipulations.
• Report any compliance breaches or near misses and support any necessary investigations to determine root causes.
• Help cultivate a team that recognizes the significance of compliance and actively works to minimize environmental impact.

• Formulate, implement, and sustain a proactive maintenance plan for all plant equipment based on OEM guidelines.
• Review and update maintenance procedures as needed to boost plant availability.
• Carry out maintenance tasks, including coordination with any contracted maintenance providers.
• Plan and manage all scheduled maintenance outages.
• Create and maintain records of all maintenance activities conducted.
• Collaborate positively and diligently with the team to meet the plant production objectives.
• Act as a positive liaison with clients and customers regarding production and fuel supply matters.
• Work with the site team and both internal and external stakeholders to provide root cause solutions that enhance plant reliability.
• Identify plant upgrades and modifications aimed at improving safety or enhancing the reliability of the facility.
• Develop a team that takes pride in enhancing the overall reliability of the plant over time.
• Be readily accessible to address and manage plant issues outside of normal working hours.
• Assist the Plant Manager in preparing annual operating budgets while ensuring that plant costs remain within budget.
• Make monthly adjustments to cost and revenue forecasts.
• Identify and suggest cost-saving measures that do not compromise safety, production, or reliability.
• Support the team's shift schedule to guarantee adequate coverage.
• Maintain plant operator qualification and training programs.
• Update, revise, and where necessary, create standard operating procedures for the plant.
• Order materials and equipment, arrange deliveries, authorize invoices, and maintain site logbooks and records.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, clients, site personnel, and internal resources.
• Review automated reports for accuracy.
• Assist the Plant Manager with special projects.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 5 years of direct experience in operation and maintenance within an industrial environment is strongly preferred.
• A valid US driver's license is mandatory.
• Formal and relevant technical training through military service, trade school, industrial experience, or technical training institutions is desirable.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technical field is advantageous.
• Relevant military and merchant marine experience is highly regarded.
• Must possess a working knowledge of reading and interpreting system drawings and/or P&IDs.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus.
• Proven organizational and leadership skills are essential.
