This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Planning Organization
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Planning Managers along with a dispersed network of planners across various locations
• Create standardized procedures, define clear responsibilities, and set performance benchmarks throughout the planning function
• Enhance team capabilities in material planning, scheduling, ERP usage, and data-driven decision-making
• Propel Excellence in Raw Material Planning
• Own comprehensive planning strategies for vital raw materials such as aluminum, steel, copper, and plastics
• Ensure effective execution of material planning processes to guarantee supply continuity while optimizing inventory levels
• Collaborate with Procurement to synchronize supply strategies with market dynamics, supplier limitations, and lead times
• Refine planning parameters such as safety stock, reorder points, and planning horizons
• Optimize Production Scheduling & Constraints Management
• Spearhead the development and implementation of production scheduling strategies across all manufacturing sites
• Ensure schedules adequately consider constraints such as capacity, labor, changeovers, material availability, and maintenance
• Foster improvements in schedule adherence, throughput, and plant-level execution
• Build proactive capabilities for constraint and bottleneck management
• Reinforce ERP & Planning Systems Discipline
• Act as the functional head for planning within ERP/MRP systems
• Promote data accuracy, process adherence, and effective system utilization across locations
• Collaborate with IT to improve planning system functionalities and reporting tools
• Facilitate more efficient, exception-based planning processes
• Enable Cross-Functional Alignment
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to align supply and demand plans
• Support S&OP / integrated business planning processes
• Lead planning responses during supply disruptions, demand changes, or capacity constraints
• Drive Performance & Continuous Improvement
• Establish and oversee KPIs including service levels, schedule compliance, inventory performance, and material availability
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective measures to enhance planning results
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization across the planning network
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Over 10 years of experience in supply chain planning, materials planning, and/or production scheduling
• More than 5 years of leadership experience, including managing managers and multi-site teams
• Willingness to travel up to 75%
• Extensive knowledge in: Raw material planning and inventory strategies
• Production scheduling and capacity/constraints management
• ERP/MRP systems and execution of planning processes
• Proven track record in a complex manufacturing setting
• Experience in building products, metals, plastics, or similar industrial manufacturing (preferred)
• Familiarity with commodity-based raw materials (aluminum, steel, copper, resins) (preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)
