This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the workload and task distribution within the Plan Documents team, facilitating the drafting and completion of Centivo’s SBCs, SPDs, and SOBs.
• Recognize opportunities for workflow enhancements and collaborate with management to implement changes or develop policies and procedures.
• Provide training for new hires regarding PDM functionality, checklist utilization, and document management.
• Participate in meetings and engage with other departments as the representative of the Plan Documents team.
• Support client implementation and plan modifications by defining benefits and structure for document preparation.
• Supervise the processes related to benefit plan documentation.
• Carry out thorough section-by-section reviews of potential conversion plan documents, which include SPDs, SMMs, plan amendments, and SBCs.
• Confirm plan eligibility status and requirements for inclusion in documentation.
• Draft, finalize, and maintain benefit plan documentation.
• Identify necessary items for document preparation that may be missing.
• Submit finalized plan documents and modifications to stop-loss carriers.
• Assess document changes required for accuracy, smooth coverage, and updates.
• Assist with client communications, which include introductory calls.
• Supply team members with information and reference materials concerning compliance and regulatory changes.
• Keep abreast of ERISA, PPACA, and other laws and regulations impacting plan benefits.
• Elevate client issues and concerns to leadership or Client Success.
• Execute other assigned projects and responsibilities.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an employee benefits paralegal or in a similar role is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in Health and Welfare benefit consulting with both ERISA and Non-ERISA plans.
• A minimum of 5 years of client management experience related to self-funding document creation and administration.
• An Associate degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent job experience.
• Proven skills in process development, improvement, and change management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Capability to manage time efficiently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proven ability to meet performance targets, including accuracy and productivity.
• Initiative and self-motivation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience with Phia Group’s PDM online portal for document management or similar portal usage for document creation and management.
• Prior experience in a lead or management role focusing on plan document drafting and management.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
