This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute and assist in the design and engineering of pipelines while adhering to relevant federal regulations and industry standards (e.g., 49 CFR 192/195, ASME, API).
• Engage in and support HAZOP and risk assessment sessions for pipelines, stations, and facilities; document outcomes and aid in developing mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the design, specification, and evaluation of measurement and pressure regulation (M&R) facilities, which include meter runs, regulators, control valves, heaters, filtration systems, instrumentation, and overpressure protection.
• Aid in the selection of materials for line pipe, fittings, valves, and coatings based on class location, operational conditions, corrosion environment, and constructability.
• Contribute to proposal evaluation efforts, including technical bid tabulations, clarifications, and the formulation of award recommendations for engineered equipment and services.
• Provide oversight for vendor activities related to major pipeline and station equipment, including planning for shop inspections, overseeing inspections, and participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Develop and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plans (QCPs), defining hold/witness points and acceptance criteria for critical manufacturing and testing processes.
• Collaborate with inspectors and suppliers to confirm compliance with specifications, ITP/QCP requirements, and project quality protocols; review and address inspection and FAT reports.
• Assist in the formulation and evaluation of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and repair strategies.
• Examine and support radiography and other NDE methods (RT, AUT, UT, visual) and address construction challenges as necessary.
• Help define hydrotest section limits, test pressures, profiles, and procedures; support the execution and troubleshooting of hydrotests.
• Aid in the design of cathodic protection (CP) systems, including anode beds, test stations, and rectifiers; assist with CP commissioning and baseline surveys.
• Review and confirm as-built drawings, alignment sheets, station drawings, and survey data; ensure the completeness of job books, test records, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and turnover packages.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related Engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in pipeline engineering, facilities engineering, or pipeline construction support.
• Proficient knowledge of natural gas transmission pipelines and station facilities, class location requirements, hydrotesting, welding, NDE, and CP fundamentals.
• Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and field documentation.
• Experience in supporting M&R stations, CP systems, DCVG surveys, and start-up/commissioning activities.
• Experience in participating in HAZOP or formal risk review processes.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, alignment sheets, and pipeline data systems.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward EIT certification.
