Physician Reviewer – Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Utilization Review

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess medical records to establish the medical necessity of services provided.

• Apply state-specific workers’ compensation regulations alongside nationally recognized standards.

• Deliver determinations that are clear, concise, and thoroughly supported.

• Finalize reviews within mandated timelines (usually 1–5 business days).

• Engage in peer-to-peer discussions as required (arranged by Dane Street).

• Prepare addenda when additional information is received.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (preferably with a focus on Spine).

• Current, unrestricted medical license in New York.

• Certification from the Workers’ Compensation Board (New York).

• Active involvement in clinical practice.
