This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver direct patient care in a clinical environment, emphasizing evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management. The physician will manage their own patient panel and work in collaboration with Registered Dietitians.
• Currently, this position does not involve collaboration with APPs. In the future, this physician role will be tasked with chart reviews and will conduct return visits for APP patients every third appointment to maintain quality and continuity of care.
• Provide treatment planning and medical management assistance for complex cases or escalated issues.
• Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct supervision.
• Ensure that clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are consistently adhered to within the team.
• Support the professional development of APPs by encouraging clinical growth, providing feedback, and facilitating continuing education. This role may include responsibilities related to APP collaboration and supervision.
• Engage in team-based care initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and high-quality patient care.
• Attend pertinent departmental meetings and participate in quality improvement activities within the obesity medicine program.
• MD or DO degree with board certification; must be a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or board certified in Endocrinology.
• Must be licensed to practice and prescribe legally in Georgia.
• A Letter of Qualification (LOQ) with the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) is preferred.
• Credentialed with insurance payers (strong preference for candidates with multiple state licenses).
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
• Demonstrate a commitment to delivering the highest quality of medical care and an evidence-based approach to obesity management.
• Previous experience conducting telemedicine visits and possessing a strong "web-side" manner is essential.
• Have experience collaborating with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
• Bilingual candidates with medical fluency in Spanish are highly preferred.
