Physical Security Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the global leader for the strategy, standards, and operational execution of physical security.

• Serve as the Deputy Head of the Corporate Security Center of Excellence (CoE), taking on leadership duties in their absence while supporting security governance across the enterprise.

• Create and uphold security policies, standards, and procedures that are in line with healthcare regulations, corporate risk tolerance, and global best practices.

• Provide guidance to executive leadership regarding emerging physical security threats that impact healthcare operations, workforce safety, and patient care.

• Supervise security programs for dialysis clinics, healthcare offices, and patient-facing facilities, ensuring a balance between safety, accessibility, and patient dignity.

• Direct enterprise-wide Workplace Violence Prevention (WPVP) initiatives.

• Establish and oversee Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) frameworks in collaboration with HR, Legal, and leadership.

• Ensure the proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of threats involving employees, patients, visitors, and third parties.

• Lead or manage complex investigations related to threats, violence, theft, misconduct, or security breaches.

• Confirm that training is in accordance with healthcare requirements and local regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required (Criminal Justice, Security Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field).

• A master’s degree is preferred (MBA, MS, or similar).

• Relevant certifications are highly preferred (e.g., CPP, PCI, PSP, CISM, or equivalent).

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security leadership is required.

• Extensive experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated capacity to operate at an executive leadership level, including experience in acting as or supporting a Chief Security Officer.

• Proven expertise in: Physical security systems and protective measures, workplace violence prevention, behavioral threat assessment and management, corporate and healthcare investigations, and security training and program development.
