Philanthropic Advisor – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Identify and investigate potential foundations for PowerLines to partner with, particularly focusing on those outside the energy sector.

• Build and sustain relationships with prospective foundations, donors, and funders for PowerLines.

• Provide guidance to PowerLines on the formulation of a fundraising strategy, primarily targeting foundations and high-net worth individuals.

• Offer advice on the implementation of development events for donors and foundations.

• Perform research and assist in the preparation of letters of inquiry, concept notes, funder memos, and grant proposals.

• Maintain accurate donor records and files, ensuring that databases are regularly updated.

• Offer additional assistance to PowerLines’ fundraising initiatives as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of fundraising experience with a proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure contributions from foundations and/or high-net worth individuals.

• Established relationships with foundations and high-net worth individuals.

• Demonstrated abilities in donor stewardship and cultivation.

• Highly self-motivated and proactive, with a capacity to work independently.

• Capable of managing multiple projects effectively and efficiently.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong strategic thinker, adept at linking PowerLines’ programmatic goals with donor interests, motivations, and priorities.

• High emotional intelligence skills, including the ability to comprehend what drives prospective donors and craft proposals that resonate with diverse donor interests.

• A commitment to advancing PowerLines’ mission of modernizing the utility regulatory system to reduce utility costs and stimulate economic growth through a consumer-focused approach.
