This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Acts as a direct contact for members and providers regarding specialty pharmacy benefits, prior authorization requests, and navigation assistance.
• Before medication delivery, offers support to members enrolled in specialty management programs, which includes coordinating necessary prior authorizations with the UM team, fulfilling prescriptions through the specialty pharmacy partner, enrolling members in patient assistance programs, and addressing billing inquiries. After medication delivery, follows up with members to ensure satisfaction, connects them with pharmacists for any clinical inquiries, and organizes future refills.
• Responds to inquiries from members, human resources departments, pharmacies, and providers about specialty distribution, benefit design, formulary coverage and medication costs, prior authorization criteria, claims processing, and copay/patient assistance, ensuring all questions and issues are effectively resolved.
• Assists Specialty Clinical Pharmacists with patient and provider outreach, which includes scheduling appointments between members and pharmacists, enrolling members in copay or patient assistance programs, supporting medication adherence, and performing other administrative duties.
• Aids in meeting all operational and productivity standards, which may involve conducting quality reviews of calls, chats, and documentation to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and privacy standards consistently.
• Provides assistance to other teams within Clinical Operations, such as utilization management and navigation.
• Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy technician position within a Specialty pharmacy, PBM, pharmacy department of a health plan, or a similar managed care environment.
• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, critical thinker, empathetic, with the ability to thoroughly understand issues to identify root causes and resolutions, and a desire to enhance patient healthcare experiences while delivering concierge-level service.
• Familiarity with pharmacy claims processing and benefit designs/terminology, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, and capability to work independently.
