Pharmacy Technician, Order Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee incoming calls and initiate outgoing calls to facilitate order setups, collaborating with medical providers, patients, and other pharmacy personnel to ensure timely medication delivery.

• Enter patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy information management system.

• Support the Pharmacist in processing prescription orders, as allowed by the State Boards of Pharmacy.

• As permitted by relevant state laws, accept verbal prescription orders from licensed prescribers and facilitate prescription transfers between dispensing pharmacies.

• Evaluate patient insurance coverage and adjudicate claims for patient orders.

• Input prescriptions into the pharmacy system.

• Stay informed about and adhere to relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.

• Interact with all customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in a courteous and professional manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

• 1-2 years of experience in a mail order or retail pharmacy environment is preferred.

• Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy, is preferred.

• Active state or national certification in good standing is required.

• Experience with insurance billing is preferred.
