Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assist in the management and execution of pharmacy services, including medication dispensing, quality assurance, and clinical monitoring.

• Engage in pharmaceutical service decision-making, patient care planning, and activities focused on quality assessment and improvement.

• Receive and assess physician prescription orders, evaluating dosage, drug selection, interactions, administration routes, and stability.

• Supervise activities related to filling, receiving, compounding, and dispensing medications.

• Maintain comprehensive patient records, encompassing allergies, medical history, lab results, and medications.

• Ensure that necessary laboratory tests are ordered, results obtained, and findings discussed with nursing staff and physicians.

• Deliver patient counseling, education, monitoring, and clinical interventions.

• Evaluate therapy responses and compliance, review medication regimens, and manage/report adverse events.

• Offer clinical and technical assistance to physicians, nurses, and patients.

• Document all communications in patient charts.

• Maintain all necessary paperwork as required by state and federal regulations and the Joint Commission.

• Support the Pharmacy Manager with new procedures, staff training, and oversight.

• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide in-service programs on drug therapy.

• Attend or complete educational and training sessions and review relevant pharmacy literature.

• Fulfill competency and skills assessments.

• Participate in the on-call schedule.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist-In-Charge.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with 3+ years of experience in mail order, retail, or hospital pharmacy, or a Pharm D.

• Current state Pharmacist license and any necessary licenses in other states.

• Must reside in TX, MO, MI, FL, or CA.

• Capability to coordinate pharmacy services and engage in clinical monitoring and quality assurance.

• Knowledge of prescription evaluation, drug interactions, dosages, routes of administration, and stability considerations.

• Ability to supervise pharmacy filling, compounding, receiving, and dispensing operations.

• Proficient in maintaining complete patient records and evaluating clinical laboratory results and medication histories.

• Competence in providing patient counseling, education, monitoring, and clinical interventions.

• Ability to assess therapy responses, compliance, medication regimens, and adverse events.

• Skilled in maintaining documentation and regulatory paperwork.

• Capable of completing competency and skills assessments.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call schedule.
