This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate a substantial number of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), work orders, and change orders.
• Assist various business functions by managing a range of contract types, such as IT licenses, SaaS subscriptions, event and sponsorship agreements, and material transfer agreements (MTAs).
• Offer pragmatic, business-focused legal counsel regarding contract terms, risk distribution, and negotiation tactics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Procurement, IT, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams to facilitate daily contracting requirements.
• Aid in agreements related to manufacturing and supply chain, including those with CMOs, CDMOs, and distribution partners, as part of a comprehensive commercial practice.
• Ensure that contracts are in compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory standards within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Play a role in enhancing contract processes, including the creation of templates, playbooks, and scalable workflows.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous matters with conflicting deadlines in a high-volume setting.
• 4–12+ years of experience in commercial contracting, ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences organizations.
• Solid, hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, work orders, and related commercial contracts in a high-volume environment.
• Proven track record across various types of agreements, including IT/software contracts, vendor agreements, event/sponsorship contracts, and MTAs.
• Ability to function as a generalist supporting multiple business areas, with adaptability to switch between different contract types and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, supply, or distribution agreements is advantageous but not essential as a primary focus.
• Demonstrated capability to efficiently manage a large volume of contracts with independence and sound judgment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a practical, solutions-driven approach to guiding business teams.
• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
