This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop a technical-scientific study on the cost of inaction in public policies regarding obesity in Brazil.

• Coordinate the methodological framework construction.

• Analyze secondary data.

• Create the technical outputs of the project.

• Estimate the economic and social impacts resulting from the absence or inadequacy of public policies aimed at the prevention and management of obesity.

• Produce evidence to support the formulation of public policies, advocacy strategies, and enhance the discussion on the cost-effectiveness of obesity interventions.

• Collaborate closely with the team at the Brazilian Obesity Panel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Health Economics, Public Health, Public Administration, Statistics, Medicine, Nutrition, or related fields;

• A master's or doctoral degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Economic Evaluation in Health, or related disciplines is preferred.

• Knowledge of Health Economics;

• Understanding of non-communicable chronic diseases;

• Experience in economic evaluation;

• Familiarity with health systems and public financing;

• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.

• Experience in economic evaluations in health;

• Knowledge of cost of illness studies;

• Economic modeling experience;

• Cost-effectiveness analysis (preferred);

• Proficient in using national and international databases.

• Experience in studies related to obesity;

• Publications in Health Economics;

• Experience in economic evaluation of public policies;

• Understanding of SUS financing;

• Experience with burden of disease or cost of illness studies;

• Familiarity with methodologies from OECD, WHO, and the World Bank.
