Personal Lines Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Orders and evaluates reports essential for accurate risk classification.

• Implements necessary changes to policies as required.

• Manages requests for policy changes: assesses underwriting factors, processes data entry, and carries out follow-up actions as needed.

• Reviews property inspections for new business and/or renewals to identify property or liability issues.

• Suggests actions and informs agency partners when necessary.

• Responds to telephone inquiries from agency partners and policyholders, supplying requested billing and basic coverage information, and addressing issues as required.

• Aids in reviewing renewal policies with Consent to Rate or high-value coverage for precision.

• Assesses and determines if further Consent to Rate is needed, executing follow-up actions as necessary.

• May also include evaluating requests for reinstatement and resolving premium-related issues from our agency partners.

• Provides support to underwriting assistants when assistance is requested and offers practical solutions to their queries.

• Assesses new business submissions for eligibility and appropriate classification.

• Initiates communication with agents concerning missing information, eligibility, or rating issues, etc.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred undergraduate education, with a minimum of 2 years' experience and/or training in P&C Insurance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be a resident of Tennessee.

• An insurance-related designation or license for Property and Casualty Insurance is preferred.
