This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Provide coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios resulting from military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at military installations.
• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, staff, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and Personal Financial Management workshops.
• Supply referral resources beyond counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs and stays within its scope.
• Assist service members in formulating spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and distribute informative financial materials.
• Organize and promote financial management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Provide virtual counseling via secure online chat, video communication, and secure video teleconferencing when permitted.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations per Department of Defense protocols.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and challenges from assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training sessions, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• An associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be accepted in place of a bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma paired with 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in financial counseling is necessary.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are preferred if required by the contract.
• Must be eligible to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• One of the following certifications is required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is necessary.
