This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Provide support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from military requirements, including post-deployment events or counselor absences.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at various military installations.
• Conduct individualized counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, and staff members.
• Deliver briefings, presentations, classes, and seminars on personal financial management topics relevant to the military lifecycle.
• Offer referral resources in addition to counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with scope and meets installation requirements.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended periods of absence.
• Develop and distribute informational materials related to financial management.
• Organize, promote, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
• Provide virtual counseling through web-based platforms, secure online chat, video communications, or secure video teleconferencing when authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
• Engage with leadership and participate in both individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues that affect assigned installations.
• Take part in in-services, training sessions, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is required, or an associate degree coupled with 4 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Proficiency in spoken English is essential.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required if specified by the contract.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Capability to successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is required as part of the certification criteria.
