This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide coverage in urgent, short-term, and on-demand scenarios driven by military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families at military bases.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions and consultations with commanders, providers, and staff members.
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops.
• Supply referral resources beyond counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs.
• Aid service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Organize and promote Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Provide age-appropriate classes or seminars upon request.
• Utilize virtual counseling and secure electronic communication methods when permitted.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
• Engage with leadership and participate in individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues impacting assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contractual activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• An Associate degree combined with 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with 6 years of experience may be accepted as an alternative to a Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required if stipulated by the contract.
• Must be able to secure a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must possess one of the following credentials: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
