This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +1 more country.
• Oversee the Performance Specialties business and manage customer relationships across France and the Benelux region.
• Discover, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities within the designated territory.
• Implement Ashland's commercial strategy at the assigned accounts.
• Achieve sales volume, revenue, profitability, and growth objectives for the designated customers and territory.
• Foster connections with key customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
• Collect information regarding customer strategies, product developments, market trends, and competitive activities.
• Coordinate customer development initiatives and collaborate with Regional R&D, Business Development/Marketing, Regulatory, and Customer Service teams.
• Promote the expansion of Ashland's technology platforms and the adoption of innovative solutions in target markets.
• Aid in New Product Introduction goals by identifying opportunities, engaging customers, and expediting commercialization.
• Supply market intelligence and customer insights to identify new product and application opportunities.
• Contribute to regional market and account strategies and assist in their implementation.
• Take initiative, achieve objectives, and emphasize performance and safety.
• Enhance organizational capacity and capabilities by fostering collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talents, and maintaining positive communication and influence.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of commercial experience in the specialty chemicals sector.
• Proven track record of driving growth within the specialty chemicals industry, ideally including cellulose ethers and applications such as coatings, adhesives, inks, ceramics, or related industrial markets.
• Established sales experience in a B2B context.
• Strong skills in customer engagement and relationship management.
• Ability to comprehend technical concepts and translate them into compelling commercial value propositions.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken; ideally also fluent in Dutch.
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout France and the Benelux region, approximately 50% of the time.
• Valid driver's license required.
