Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Become a key technical project developer with the Public Sector East team in New England or New York.

• Assess the technical requirements of customers and convert them into precise, actionable solutions.

• Perform thorough site evaluations to pinpoint mechanical and operational inefficiencies.

• Review utility bills and financials for comprehensive analysis.

• Collaborate with contractors to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and technically proficient solutions.

• Develop written and schematic technical documents to convey solutions and associated risks.

• Conduct energy savings, operational savings, life cycle cost, and feasibility assessments.

• Provide energy analyses and guarantee savings based on the proposed measures.

• Construct financial models grounded in customer parameters and project outcomes.

• Work alongside Account Executives and Project Managers to craft and present customer proposals.

• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure seamless installations and relay technical information between operations and sales.

• Identify and engage subcontractors and consultants for technical evaluations and installation descriptions.

• Ensure that all delivered work surpasses job expectations.

• Approve equipment prior to ordering to guarantee precise estimates and timely deliveries.

• Establish and develop metrics to ensure compliance with energy and operational guarantees.

• Stay updated on technological advancements through articles, seminars, conferences, contractors, and suppliers.

• Keep abreast of regional legislation that may impact project development.

• Maintain a thorough technical understanding of energy and plant/facility operations, acting as the customer's ongoing technical advisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or an equivalent qualification.

• Three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related field.

• Willingness to travel frequently, approximately 25%-50%, which may include overnight stays.

• Proficient in conducting thorough site surveys and analyzing mechanical and operational inefficiencies.

• Capable of analyzing utility bills and financial statements.

• Strong ability to coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, Account Executives, Project Managers, internal teams, and customers.

• Skilled in creating both written and schematic technical plans.

• Knowledgeable in energy savings calculations, operational savings calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and feasibility studies.

• Proficient in developing financial models.

• Competent in formulating technical strategies, project costing, energy reduction forecasts, and measurement and verification plans.

• Able to approve equipment prior to ordering.

• Capable of working effectively in a self-directed manner in open protocol environments.

• Current understanding of energy and plant/facility operations as well as relevant technologies.

• Awareness of regional legislation impacting project development.

• Bonus: Ten (10) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related field.

• Additional certifications are a plus: CEM, CMVP, any LEED Certification, NEBB TAB, any ASHRAE Certification, Professional License (PE), NCESS Record.
