Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical project developer and resource for customers, Account Executives, and Regional management.

• Grasp customer technical requirements and devise precise, actionable solutions.

• Execute comprehensive site evaluations to pinpoint mechanical and operational inefficiencies.

• Examine utility bills and financial statements.

• Collaborate with contractors to formulate innovative, cost-effective, and technically sound solutions.

• Prepare written and schematic technical documents that communicate solutions and associated risks.

• Conduct energy savings assessments, operational savings evaluations, life cycle cost analysis, and feasibility studies.

• Deliver energy analyses and establish guaranteed savings for suggested measures.

• Develop financial models based on client parameters and project outcomes.

• Work alongside Account Executives and Project Managers to create and present proposals to customers.

• Facilitate smooth installation by acting as the technical communication bridge between operations and sales.

• Identify and collaborate with subcontractors and consultants for technical analysis and project installation descriptions.

• Authorize equipment purchases to ensure precise estimates and timely delivery.

• Create metrics to validate energy and operational guarantees.

• Maintain a thorough technical knowledge of energy and plant/facility operations, serving as an ongoing technical resource for clients.

• Stay updated on technologies through publications, seminars, conferences, and partnerships with contractors and suppliers.

• Remain informed about regional legislation impacting project development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or equivalent qualification.

• Three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related field.

• Willingness to travel frequently, approximately 25%-50%, including overnight trips.

• Must possess the ability to be effectively self-directed.

• Capability to develop and implement strategies in open protocol environments.

• Any of the following certifications are advantageous: CEM, CMVP, any LEED Certification, NEBB TAB, any ASHRAE Certification, Professional License (PE), NCESS Record.

• Familiarity with current technologies, regional legislation, energy, and plant/facility operations.
