Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary technical project developer and serve as a key technical resource for customers, Account Executives, and Regional management.

• Comprehend customer technical requirements and formulate precise, effective solutions.

• Conduct thorough site assessments to pinpoint mechanical and operational inefficiencies.

• Analyze utility bills and financial data of facilities.

• Collaborate with contractors to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and technically robust solutions.

• Draft written and schematic technical plans that communicate solutions and associated risks.

• Carry out analyses for energy savings, operational savings, life cycle costs, and feasibility.

• Provide energy analyses and establish assured savings for proposed initiatives.

• Develop financial models based on customer specifications and project outcomes.

• Work alongside Account Executives and Project Managers to create and present proposals to customers.

• Assist Project Managers during installation phases and relay technical information between operations and sales.

• Identify and collaborate with subcontractors and consultants for technical analysis and installation descriptions.

• Authorize equipment orders to guarantee precise estimates and timely arrivals.

• Establish metrics to verify energy and operational guarantees.

• Stay updated with advancements in technology, regional regulations, and energy and facility operations.

• Continue to serve as a technical resource consultant for clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or its equivalent.

• Three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related industry.

• Frequent travel of approximately 25%-50%, including overnight stays.

• Capability to conduct in-depth site surveys and analyze utility bills and financial data.

• Proficiency in performing energy savings calculations, operational savings calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and feasibility assessments.

• Skill in creating financial models.

• Competence in developing technical plans, both written and schematic.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, Account Executives, and Project Managers.

• Capacity to approve equipment prior to ordering.

• Aptitude for determining and developing metrics for energy and operational guarantees.

• Ability to work independently in open protocol scenarios.

• Comprehensive technical understanding of energy and facility operations.

• Preferred/bonus: ten (10) years of experience in a construction or energy service-related field.

• Preferred/bonus certifications: CEM, CMVP, any LEED Certification, NEBB TAB, any ASHRAE Certification, Professional License (PE), NCESS Record.
