People Lead – Talent Acquisition, HR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of both talent acquisition and human resources for Weekday.

• Collaborate with the founders to strategize hiring, including defining roles, sequencing, and establishing the hiring criteria.

• Conduct searches for senior and challenging positions, encompassing sourcing, pitching, closing, and negotiating offers.

• Develop comprehensive hiring processes, including scorecards, interview loops, work trials, and enhancing the candidate experience.

• Create and manage performance reviews, goal-setting, and feedback cycles.

• Formulate policies, compensation structures, leave protocols, payroll systems, and ensure compliance with labor laws.

• Oversee onboarding, employee engagement, and retention strategies.

• Analyze turnover data to inform decisions.

• Address conflicts, manage underperformance, and facilitate exits.

• Deliver high-quality work punctually while collaborating directly with the founders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in talent acquisition and human resources.

• Proven experience as the first or second hire in a people role, or in developing people operations at a rapidly growing startup.

• Practical recruiting experience with a focus on successfully closing senior-level positions.

• Strong discernment when it comes to assessing talent.

• Ability to create processes from the ground up and eliminate ineffective practices.

• Direct communication skills and the ability to challenge the founders when necessary.

• Familiarity with Indian labor law and basic payroll knowledge.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and maintaining a Monday to Saturday work pace.

• Experience in a recruiting, HR-tech, or staffing firm is a plus.

• Proficient with Airtable, Slack, Notion, or an HR Management System, and adept at automating repetitive tasks (nice to have).
