This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Facilitate and implement the brand's vision by appropriately allocating products and sourcing materials that achieve the desired aesthetic while adhering to target product costs and timelines.
• Ensure the actualization of the seasonal calendar.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to align with category business needs.
• Navigate through challenges and ensure resolutions are achieved.
• Participate in Concept and Sketch Review meetings to comprehend and clarify the Design team's intentions, tone, and key style elements.
• Oversee bulk cost negotiations with vendors; aim to meet or surpass targets.
• Analyze and pinpoint opportunities for the Merchant to enhance adoption rates and meet approved style count targets as outlined in the seasonal line plan.
• Support the Merchant's business objectives by aligning with product and category needs, while updating and communicating all style, cost, and delivery modifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the category development process, including researching pre-style development, tracking and reviewing pre-style packages, ensuring product compliance with internal testing standards, and managing sample evaluations, accuracy, and quality.
• Work together with cross-functional partners to explore engineering options for category target costs and minimums, required lead times, and final IMU, with the aim of enhancing speed, sales, and financial outcomes.
• Lead discussions with vendors regarding daily obstacles and ensure resolution.
• Independently initiate cross-team discussions and effectively direct deliverables, deadlines, and hand-offs.
• Assist others in understanding the Brand DNA and requirements.
• Regularly seek feedback.
• Manage and mentor coordinators within the team.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive development and sourcing experience in a complex, fast-paced apparel or home furnishings environment.
• Experience in specialty retail and/or direct-to-consumer is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in building cross-functional relationships and effectively communicating with both internal and external customers.
• Possesses a strong sense of urgency and integrity, adapts quickly to change, and is driven by deadlines and new challenges.
• Proficient in the relevant subject area.
• Experience in mentoring and training others is preferred.
• Capable of executing projects when provided with clear guidelines and strategy.
