This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, review, and submit federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (941s, 940s, state withholding, unemployment, etc.) for various EINs.
• Oversee and reconcile tax payments, deposits, and wage reports.
• Investigate and resolve tax notices or discrepancies efficiently with tax agencies.
• Stay current with multi-state tax laws and PEO regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Payroll, Accounting, Client Services) to guarantee compliance and accurate reporting.
• Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of client accounts concerning tax setup and jurisdiction registration.
• Engage in audits and ensure precise record-keeping.
• Identify and propose enhancements to processes, systems, and compliance protocols.
• Minimum of 2 years of multistate payroll tax experience (PEO employer environment highly preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Proficient in payroll/tax software systems.
• Experience with client transitions and account registrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent professional writing and verbal communication skills.
