This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Ensure a prompt and ethical editorial workflow for the designated portfolio.
• Engage in daily communication with editors, authors, reviewers, and APA Journals personnel.
• Oversee the manuscript submission procedure from the initial author submission to the peer review stage.
• Evaluate submitted manuscripts to ensure they meet submission criteria and compliance standards.
• Offer comprehensive technical assistance and troubleshooting for Editorial Manager.
• Generate reports on editorial metrics for editors and APA staff.
• Address issues that arise during the peer review process.
• Create departmental process enhancements and facilitate training sessions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, English, or similar fields.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in scholarly publishing.
• Familiarity with the editorial and peer review processes.
• Experience dealing with a sensitive customer base, including scholarly authors and scientific editors.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities (both written and verbal).
• Background in a high-stakes, deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email applications, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Previous experience with Editorial Manager, iThenticate, and DocuSign is preferred.
