PED/PER Certification Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development, execution, and future business initiatives related to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PESR) SI 2016 as amended.

• Provide technical guidance across a broad spectrum of pressure equipment to assist with inspection and certification processes connected to the PED/PESR.

• Conduct audit activities within BSI’s certification as an EN ISO/IEC 17021-1/EN ISO/IEC 17065 Certification Body.

• Perform inspection activities under the framework of BSI’s certification as an EN ISO 17020 Type A Inspection Body.

• Investigate, develop, and manage a range of services to fulfill customer needs concerning the PED/PESR, ensuring evaluations are based on commercial, technical, and strategic criteria.

• Collaborate and coordinate with other divisions of BSI to achieve and optimize all business opportunities related to the PED/PESR.

• Carry out inspection activities pertaining to a diverse array of pressure equipment under the PED/PESR.

• Ensure that every aspect of the service is meticulously planned and implemented for prompt availability to clients.

• Perform PED/PESR compliance audits independently at customer sites.

• Assist in managing BSI’s inspection operations.

• Contribute to the training of staff members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior technical/management position within a pressure-related industry (preferred) OR equivalent as determined by the PED Technical Manager based on pressure equipment career history, qualifications, and experience.

• Extensive knowledge of design and manufacturing codes, materials, manufacturing processes (including welding), inspection (including NDT), pressure testing, and certification pertaining to pressure vessels, piping, pressure accessories, safety accessories, and their assemblies.

• Strong commercial and business awareness concerning pressure equipment manufacturing and inspection.

• In-depth technical understanding of the PED/PESR, pressure equipment codes/standards, and the products, practices, and industries impacted.

• Effective communicator with training and presentation skills, especially in a technically intricate field.
