This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Facilitate 60-minute virtual intake sessions to assess obesity and overweight issues while formulating personalized treatment strategies.
• Deliver thorough clinical services, encompassing medication management (such as GLP-1s and other anti-obesity medications) and the ordering/interpreting of diagnostic labs.
• Direct our "Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight" Shared Medical Appointment groups.
• Collaborate with behavioral health professionals and make appropriate referrals to other services.
• Conduct 30-minute medical follow-up sessions to evaluate progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure clinical documentation and administrative tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
• Work together with nursing staff on prior authorizations and care coordination.
• Must hold a medical license to practice in California along with an active DEA registration.
• Board certification in Pediatrics is required; board certification in Obesity Medicine is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient care.
• Strong interest or background in Lifestyle Medicine, nutrition coaching, and physical activity.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms for delivering virtual care.
• Experience engaging with families from diverse backgrounds and a dedication to providing culturally sensitive treatment.
• Enthusiastic about joining a rapidly expanding startup and experimenting with new care models.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Spanish.
