Pediatric Inpatient Registered Dietitian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer remote virtual support for pediatric inpatient services.

• Provide exceptional virtual inpatient nutrition care.

• Administer comprehensive medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for hospitalized pediatric patients through remote documentation.

• Assess the nutritional status of both inpatients and outpatients across all age groups.

• Create, execute, and document the nutritional care plan in partnership with other healthcare professionals.

• Record the outcomes of assessments, intervention recommendations, and nutritional progress.

• Identify and document evidence-based criteria to substantiate a physician's diagnosis of malnutrition.

• Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement evidence-based nutrition protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or equivalent qualification.

• Four years of experience required for candidates who graduated before January 1, 2024.

• Completion of an internship or clinical experience approved by the American Dietetic Association is mandatory.

• Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D.N.).

• Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.) is preferred for the Diabetes Education Program for Critical Care, Oncology, and Trauma Services.

• Certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (C.N.S.C.) is desired.

• Eligibility for registration as an RDN is required, candidates must work under the supervision of an RDN and obtain registration within 90 days of hire.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

• Proficiency in keyboarding for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records, is required.
