This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Accountable for conducting needs-based assessments and determining eligibility for Medicaid beneficiaries.
• Perform assessments to establish if members fulfill the conditions and criteria for PCS eligibility.
• Arrange assessments and carry out interviews with family members and informal caregivers.
• Submit service authorization requests (SARs) on behalf of PCS providers.
• Ensure the privacy and dignity of individuals undergoing assessment is upheld to the highest standards.
• Engage in mediation and appeal processes as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare discipline is required.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a home care environment.
• Experience with community-based individuals requiring personal assistance with ADL and IADL tasks is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in conducting PCS assessments is highly desirable.
• Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Familiarity with North Carolina Medicaid Clinical Coverage Policy (Clinical Policy) 3L and the PCS Program Provider Manual.
• Awareness and understanding of public sector services and supports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Capability to use computer equipment and web-based software for work-related tasks.
• Proficient in communicating effectively with individuals and groups through spoken, written, and electronic media.
