This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, punctually, and in adherence to country-specific regulations and statutory requirements.
• Oversee the complete payroll execution for designated jurisdictions, including the validation of payroll inputs, calculations, and post-payroll activities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on country-specific payroll requirements, remaining informed about legislative, tax, and regulatory changes that could affect payroll operations.
• Assist in the operational implementation and launch of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions, ensuring that payroll execution processes are seamlessly integrated into operational workflows.
• Act as a primary point of coordination for internal teams and external stakeholders regarding country payroll issues.
• Identify and address payroll discrepancies, operational risks, or compliance challenges, exercising sound judgment when escalating complex situations.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of payroll operational processes, spotting opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance operational transparency.
• Aid in the development and upkeep of payroll documentation and operational knowledge to ensure processes remain clear, scalable, and aligned with internal governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, statutory adjustments, and operational enhancements that impact payroll.
• Contribute to the integration of automation and AI-driven tools that boost payroll operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Engage in testing activities related to payroll system developments, enhancements, and process improvements to guarantee operational readiness.
• Possesses significant mid-senior career experience in Polish payroll operations, including hands-on responsibility for comprehensive payroll processing in Poland.
• Has managed payroll within multi-country settings or global organizations, with experience in various payroll systems and local regulatory frameworks.
• Exhibits a strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance obligations.
• Comfortable collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in Remote’s payroll ecosystem, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with robust problem-solving skills and the capability to navigate complex payroll scenarios.
• Effective written and verbal communicator, adept in asynchronous and globally distributed environments.
• Takes responsibility for outcomes, raises risks proactively, and tackles operational challenges with curiosity and accountability.
• Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced start-up environments.
• Skilled in payroll tools and data analysis using both in-house and external platforms.
• Experience in remote or globally distributed teams is advantageous.
• Demonstrates strong proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
