Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• As a GP Compliance Expert, you will take ownership of payroll compliance for your designated country or region.

• You will convert complex regulations into scalable processes, systems, and documentation — ensuring that Remote consistently meets (and anticipates) regulatory standards.

• Collaboration with Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Legal teams will be essential to integrate compliance into the core of our global payroll platform.

• You will spearhead investigations and incident resolution, promote ongoing improvement, and mentor teams to enhance compliance capabilities throughout the organization.

• This position combines subject-matter expertise with strategic systems thinking, positioning you as a pivotal architect in how Remote develops compliant, automated global payroll solutions at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of payroll and employment compliance specific to your country/region, along with a solid understanding of how legislation impacts payroll calculations and system logic.

• Demonstrated experience in leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance initiatives.

• Proven track record of collaborating with technical teams to translate statutory requirements into product specifications.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.

• Confident investigator with sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive situations.

• A mentor and coach dedicated to developing the capabilities of your team.

• A systems thinker who creates frameworks, documentation, processes, and controls that are scalable.

• Comfortable working in an asynchronous, rapidly evolving, fully remote environment.
