This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for designated Central America countries, taking full ownership of payroll processes.
• Execute comprehensive in-house payroll operations, which include data collection, validation, calculations, approvals, payments, and ensuring statutory compliance.
• Oversee statutory filings, tax responsibilities, and social security requirements within the assigned countries.
• Guarantee data accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery in accordance with KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage payroll accounting, reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Support) to ensure seamless operations and alignment.
• Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives for continuous improvements, standardization, and automation.
• Address payroll exceptions, escalations, and complex cases with a solution-oriented approach.
• Provide support and mentorship to fellow payroll specialists, enhancing team development and knowledge sharing.
• Several years of experience in LATAM payroll, with significant exposure to Central America.
• Demonstrated experience in independently managing end-to-end payroll processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of compliance, statutory filings, and local labor laws.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, global setting while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating across functions with Finance, Product, or Implementation teams.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processes throughout Central America, especially in countries like Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
• Solid grasp of local tax regulations, social security, and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll processing in-house.
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of payroll systems and tools; experience with automation or process enhancements is an advantage.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Experience with in-house payroll operations is a strong asset.
• Remote work experience is beneficial, though not mandatory.
