This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Manage a significant volume of incoming calls from patients, their representatives, attorneys, and insurance providers.
• Effectively assess the needs of callers and resolve inquiries in a prompt and accurate manner.
• Investigate and document billing issues by adhering to established standard work policies, procedures, and departmental resources.
• Implement escalation protocols when necessary to handle complex accounts.
• Clearly convey USACS billing policies as they pertain to patient accounts.
• Identify billing concerns and take proactive measures to mitigate any negative effects on patients, the department, or the company.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and professionalism in alignment with HIPAA regulations and the USACS Code of Conduct, House Rules, Missions, and Values.
• Execute various tasks, including but not limited to: researching accounts, processing payments and adjustments, and managing incoming correspondence from patients, attorneys, and insurance companies.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in call centers, customer service, medical insurance, or billing is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Capability to deliver the highest level of customer service to patients, hospital personnel, and colleagues.
• Excellent phone communication skills and active listening abilities.
• Flexibility to adjust communication styles to accommodate various caller types.
• Proficient in Windows applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with medical insurance terminology; knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.
• Basic mathematical skills for performing calculations related to payments and balances.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Must be self-driven with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
