This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee patient navigation within the healthcare system as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

• Build rapport with patients and act as their main point of contact.

• Gather and evaluate market data to pinpoint payer demographics based on the regional payer distribution.

• Confirm insurance benefits and coverage options for obesity treatment.

• Review payer pre-certification guidelines and policies to avoid delays in certification.

• Inform providers and staff about payer regulations to minimize denials.

• Identify available resources and eliminate obstacles to patient care.

• Coordinate appointments across various service lines, including laboratory and diagnostic testing.

• Schedule and modify patient appointments, conduct reminder calls, and manage the patient waitlist.

• Monitor assigned patients during admissions, conduct daily rounds, and assist with scheduling discharge appointments.

• Aid patients in filling prescriptions while assessing cost and availability.

• Record patient information and obtain external medical records.

• Engage family and community resources to meet patients’ emotional, social, and financial needs.

• Collaborate with social services regarding financial assistance, entitlement programs, patient benefits, healthcare resource utilization, and clinical cost efficiency.

• Carry out other duties specific to the department as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related discipline; or an associate’s degree in a relevant field along with two years of directly related experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent coupled with four years of directly related experience.

• A minimum of three years of experience in the healthcare field is preferred.

• At least one year of experience in statistical data analysis is preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.

• Capability to engage with individuals from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.

• Flexibility, open-mindedness, and the ability to adapt to changes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Capacity to sit for extended durations.

• Ability to work in a conventional office or clinical setting.
