This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete patient navigation process, from initial appointment scheduling to follow-ups and re-engaging patients who have yet to book their appointments.
• Assist patients in comprehending the information provided by clinicians regarding their risk levels, recommended actions, and the significance of adhering to their care plans.
• Serve as the key point of contact once an appointment is confirmed, offering prompt and compassionate support via phone, email, and text.
• Reach out to patients who have completed a risk assessment or received a referral from a physician to encourage them to schedule the necessary visit.
• Track imaging and testing orders from initiation to completion, ensuring that patients receive timely reminders and follow-up assistance.
• Cultivate a solid understanding of breast health, screening guidelines, risk assessments, and early detection practices.
• Collaborate with breast health specialists, imaging facilities, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Regularly review the EMR for opportunities to enhance referrals, registration workflows, SBO/MSPQ issues, charge capture, and claims editing processes.
• Utilize EMR systems and insurance portals to assess patient financial responsibilities and clearly convey expected costs.
• Assist in billing, claims follow-ups, payment collection, and other revenue cycle activities as necessary.
• Manage pre-visit authorization workflows and secure payer approvals prior to appointments.
• Facilitate system access and troubleshoot basic technical issues affecting the care team.
• Maintain precise patient records while safeguarding confidential health information.
• Identify workflow deficiencies, take initiative in implementing solutions, and contribute to enhancing internal processes as the organization expands.
• A minimum of one year of experience in care coordination, patient services, healthcare customer support, or a similar patient-facing role.
• Practical experience in scheduling appointments, managing follow-ups, and engaging directly with patients.
• Capability to support individuals through sensitive or emotionally challenging healthcare scenarios with empathy and discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey detailed information clearly and confidently.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple patients, deadlines, orders, and follow-up tasks without losing track of essential information.
• Comfort using various digital platforms and a quick learner of unfamiliar software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive sense of ownership.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative from identification through execution and enhancement.
• A genuine interest in women’s health and preventive care.
• Part-time position available during the initial contract period.
• Three-month contract with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role.
