This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Offer daily support for the coordination of patient care by handling referrals, interacting with patients, providers, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities, and ensuring that treatment plans are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Act as the main point of contact for patients with inquiries about referrals, medications, imaging, lab work, authorizations, and other care-related needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and facilities to guarantee effective coordination of all aspects of patient care.
• Oversee referrals, tests, procedures, and the timely provision of care services.
• Coordinate and relay medication and authorization details with pharmacies and insurance companies.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare facilities about the status of labs, imaging, and medical services.
• Fulfill scheduling requests and appropriately schedule patients in accordance with treatment plans.
• Employ critical thinking skills to identify problems, assess options, and execute solutions.
• Keep accurate patient records, demographic details, and documentation of all patient interactions.
• Track patient progress and satisfaction to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Treat patients with empathy, professionalism, and compassion in all forms of written and verbal communication.
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and confidentiality consistently.
• High school diploma or GED is necessary.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with EHR systems (athenaOne preferred).
• A strong grasp of medical terminology and insurance processes is required.
• Experience in remote work is preferred, particularly in high-volume inbound and outbound call settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other computer systems is required.
• A strong customer service mindset characterized by compassion and professionalism is essential.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
