Patient Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Be available during the designated hours of coverage for communication with the RMI Global Coordination Centre.

• Travel to specified medical facilities to welcome RMI patients within one hour of notification from the GCC, or within mutually agreed upon timeframes.

• Collaborate with the GCC to ensure that payment methods are confirmed with the receiving medical facilities.

• Act as a liaison between medical facilities and the GCC when necessary.

• Guarantee prompt access to care while addressing issues in a pragmatic and professional manner.

• Translate local dialects to English both verbally and in writing, and communicate this information to the GCC.

• Visit medical facilities daily during extended inpatient stays.

• Oversee patient welfare during admissions, ensuring comfort, clarity regarding treatment, and reasonable support requests.

• Build rapport with treating physicians and gather up-to-date information from the medical team.

• Provide timely verbal and written updates to the GCC concerning patient status and proposed plans.

• Interact professionally with client management as necessary.

• Utilize local knowledge to arrange additional services as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a healthcare professional in the relevant operational area.

• Bilingual in the local language and dialect (specific to the operational area) as well as English.

• Experience in patient advocacy in remote or international settings is preferred.

• Experience with foreign travel.

• Exceptional communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

• Proven self-discipline.

• Capability to integrate into a cross-cultural social environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy is preferred.

• A valid driver's license for the operational area is preferred.
