Patient Access Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Providing assistance to patients with insurance verification, scheduling clinical services, and ensuring all pre-registration requirements are fulfilled.

• Maintaining accurate patient information, obtaining necessary authorizations, ensuring correct scheduling, and offering support with financial obligations.

• Collecting and verifying patient demographics, insurance information (policy numbers, co-pays, deductibles), and eligibility for benefits.

• Acquiring essential pre-certifications and authorizations from insurance providers and physician offices.

• Effectively scheduling clinical services, confirming available time slots, and validating patient demographic and insurance information.

• Fostering a professional and supportive relationship with patients, assisting them with financial obligations and pre-registration processes.

• Precisely entering patient and insurance data into relevant systems, including procedure/diagnosis codes and authorization details.

• Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies regarding patient information and financial responsibilities.

• Aiding patients in comprehending their financial responsibilities and guiding them through the billing and payment procedures.

• Collaborating closely with internal teams to achieve registration objectives and reduce errors in scheduling and billing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Experience: At least 1 year in patient access, financial services, or healthcare-related positions. 2-3 years of experience is preferred.

• Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance protocols.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

• Experience with hospital billing requirements and documentation processes.

• Understanding of Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA regulations.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and adapt to flexible schedules.

• Bilingual skills are considered a plus.
