Patient Access Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversees telephone communications and handles patient inquiries through mail or fax; promptly returns patient phone concierge, Website, MyChart, and CIH appointment requests.

• Responds to phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring outstanding customer service.

• Clarifies the information required by the caller and identifies the most appropriate course of action to satisfy the customer's needs.

• Effectively interacts with physicians, patients, and other professionals, returning phone calls without delay.

• Schedules patient appointments in line with internal guidelines and physician scheduling protocols.

• Accurately collects and enters patient demographic information into the system.

• Confirms patient insurance details and verifies that OrthoVirginia is included in their insurance plan.

• Checks any necessary information in preparation for an office visit (e.g., if the patient has consulted another physician for the same issue, if x-rays are available, etc.).

• Directs patient calls related to medical inquiries to the appropriate resources.

• Sends out appointment reminder cards or patient packets upon request.

• Assists with Epic Work Queues as required or assigned.

• Performs additional duties as needed.
