This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.
• Managing the prosecution of patent applications, which includes addressing Office actions and liaising with Patent Examiners.
• Composing high-quality patent applications that feature thorough written descriptions and illustrations to safeguard innovative technologies.
• Performing and evaluating extensive patent searches to uncover prior art and determine the patentability of inventions.
• Keeping abreast of changes in U.S. patent law and pertinent technologies.
• Achieving a billable hour target of 1500 - 1700 hours annually.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory.
• A minimum of three years (preferably six or more) of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications within a law firm setting.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, maintaining professionalism and courtesy in interactions with clients and colleagues.
• Capability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently, demonstrating strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Must be registered as a Patent Agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence or Quantum Computing is a plus.
